It’s Pizza Friday. Sales begin after the nutrition bell in the foods room and pizza is $3/slice

Grade 6 baritone players have a rehearsal in the music room at lunch today.

Yearbook orders are now closed if you have ordered a yearbook it’s a good idea to check you name is on the master list outside the office. If your name is not on the list and you feel you have ordered a yearbook please see the office to confirm.

There will be daily Heritage Fair meetings at the beginning of lunch in the Library until presentations next Friday.

Band 6 Students going to festival please turn in your permission forms to Mr DP in the music room or in his box in the office.

Next week is Spirit Week! On Monday we are starting with Jersey Day. Wear your favourite team’s jersey and start the week off right!

Sports:

Track and Field meeting in Portable 2 at lunch today. Please be there right away. Track practice will be Tuesday and Thursday next week. Everyone must attend.

Drop in Badminton is after school today, all staff and students interested are welcome to attend.

Floor Hockey Tournament teams are reminded that there are games today at lunch in the gym.

Dancers in grade 6, 7, 8 and Hip Hop Crew please come to the studio today at 12:30 for a very short meeting.

Hip Hop Crew you do NOT have class today after school.

COURSE SELECTION FORMS FOR 2017-18 We are still waiting for a few Grade 6 students to hand in the Grade 7 Course Selection form and some Grade 7’s to hand in the Grade 8 Course Selection forms. If your child has not handed these forms into the office, could you please have it done for tomorrow? We have also attached these forms if it was lost. Thank you.

GRADE 8 LEAVING CELEBRATION It’s about that time of year again where we start to plan for our annual Grade 8 Leaving ceremony at Olympic View Golf Course. This year our event will take place on Thursday June 15th. This will be the first opportunity for parents to use the district’s online payment system. If you have any questions, please contact event organizers Sarah Baas (sbaas@sd62.bc.ca) or Greg Moyes (gmoyes@sd62.bc.ca).

GRADE 8 CELEBRATION FEE Our online payment feature will be available for parents who would like to make payment online now until May 31st. In honour of Earth Day on Saturday we are encouraging you to shut off your electronic devices while at school tomorrow.  Do you think you can do it? Keep them in your lockers or bags and see if you have what it takes to disconnect from your phone!

GRADE 6 AND 7 COURSE SELECTION ASSEMBLIES

We have booked a time to meet with our Grade 6 and 7 students regarding course selection for 2017-18. We will meet with the students during the Literacy Block (1:00-1:26pm) and will be handing out course selection forms for students to take home. Please watch for these forms and have your child return to the office as soon as possible. Our Grade 7 Assembly took place yesterday and the forms were coming in this morning – Thank you.  Our Grade 6 Assembly will take place this afternoon at 1:00pm. I will be asking all Grade 6 students to return these forms tomorrow to the office.  If you have any questions, please contact an administrator or counsellor for further clarification.

If you know your son or daughter will not be returning to Dunsmuir for the 2017-18 school year, please write that on the form and have your child return to the office. This really helps us keep track of our numbers for next year. Thank you.

Divisions 6-06’s Art Tree project is on display at the Coast Collective Art Gallery on Wale Rd. If you’re interested in seeing their display for Canada’s 150th Birthday you can go to the Coast Collective Art Gallery to check it out.
